Finally a long weekend and i've time to post!
but i'm just staring at the screen thinking what to type next.
recently i feel like i'm just floating around everything that happens.
just going with the flow, without really thinking about what i'm actually doing.
but all i want is to get my feet planted right in the heart of things and not just let the worldly things lead me along.

pretty much looking back at camp: Fire '08, the passion has indeed died down.
but then there came Fuel '09 held in Cornerstone Church.
i thank God for putting people in my life that led me to the decision to go for this event.
namely, bird for even telling me abt this event, and gabriel whom i think that if he didnt go, i'd most prolly wont too.
the whole thing was..........indescribable.
from being oddly terrified at the beginning, to feeling the empowerment just like at campFire at the end.

school's probably gonna start proper after orientation next week.
Lectures, tutorials, university and scholarship talks, tests, fatigue, and whatever might come, are going to be in full force.

20th December '08: Dover Celebrates Christmas!

this was some Residents' Committee event which SJSM decided to take part in this year.
i was really looking forward to it cos i knew it was going to be just like Rice day, as fufilling, as rewarding, as accomplishing.
true enough, i saw some of the residents of Blk3 whom i gave rice to and they even asked what time's the christmas service.
really great to see more ppl coming to know God (:

BUT THEN,
when i woke up ytd morning, i had high fever and sore throat and i lost my voice.
felt so tired/weak/lethargic that i knew it was impossible to last 10hours at the event.
then i prayed.
and it's just so wonderful to see God work his little miracles into our lives.
within the next hour, my fever subsided, my voice came back, and my sore throat disappeared (:
was that amazing or what?
so yes, i went for DCC from 1230 to 2300 knowing God was my pillar strength and true enough, he sustained me all the way.
until when i reached home and had a splitting headache and felt like the world was spinning 100km/s ):

yes indeed, i got a chance to sit by the beach and marvel at the beauty that is God's creation.

and even on a special day.

how wonderful it is, sitting on the sand late at night, beneath the stars and just listening to the sound of the waves.

and with a special SOMEone.

yay, i'm contented and blessed (:

now, ask me what does christmas mean to me.

i'll tell you, christmas means Emmanuel.

Emmanuel, God is with us.

every year, as we approach christmas, i would have mixed feelings abt it.

happiness, and yet fear.

fear of what is ahead, what is to come in the New Year.

all the trials and tribulations, will i be able to overcome it all unscathed?

Next year is the Alevels examinations, most probably one of the biggest examinations in our lives.

but i know i'm not afraid.

cos God is with me, He will be there, to ride me out of each and every single storm that i might face in the coming year.

today, is a tiring day.
today, my tolerance level was pushed to a higher level.

yes firstly, tolerance level for hunger
i had lunch at abt 230 and i didnt really have breakfast!
then i had dinner close to 9 cos i'd church.

secondly, tolerance level for pee
i had to pee real badly.
held it for more than 2 hours till i pee-ed halfway during skit prac.

thirdly, tolerance level in general
there were 2 girls from SOME school who were like blasting music on the bus.
the music wasnt even nice luh, so noisy.
then "Can I have this dance" came on.
it's a nice song, until she started ~~singing~~ shrieking at the top of her voice like dont know what!
AND then, i boarded another bus.
there was this ~~mad~~ mentally disabled man who stood up right in front of the tv mobile tv and prevented me from watching my 心花朵朵开! ):
then he was pointing his middle finger and stroked the window, and turned back and pointed at me and some random guy and started shouting and then hit and shout at whoever walked past him!
i was mostly scared ):

okay and now i'm going to sleep.

eons of time have been spent in band, in TAE, in skit that i think i've been neglecting the people around me and especially God.

offered to do any small household chores for them too.
one lady wanted us to paint her house! and she spent 30mins talking to us abt how she liked dancing.
i guess they're really lonely sometimes.
had buffet lunch with them today.
so all the residents interacted.
should've seen the old men and women!
they all looked so happy having other people to talk to.

yup, was sleeping on the sofa when the doorbell rang.
so i got up and somehow when i was on the stairs my legs "lost energy" suddenly and i fell.
hit myself against the sharp edge of the chair and ended up with a longer than 15cm wound on my back, and some minor wounds on my ankle and elbow!
hit my chin too, but no abrasions thank goodness.

somehow, it felt kinda familiar going to the doctor and hearing what he has to say cos it's exactly the same as what the doctor said to jiayun when she fell the other time too! -.-

it's been quite a long while since i last blogged.
hmm, to start off on a random note, i feel fat! -.-
have not gone for 3rd period pe ever since school reopened.
1st week faking sick, 2nd week being really sick, 3rd week going back to collect gown and the 4th week to come, going back for Speech Day.
speaking abt falling sick, yes, it's the 1st time i fell sick this year (great improvement from last year)
really caught up on my much needed sleep after sleeping for more than 25 hours in total in 2 days.

anyway, past weeks have been great, finally paying much attention to lectures (except wed physic lectures) and doing tutorials.

oh ya, got back results slip too and i PASSED.

yes, results for MYEs are out (apart from econs and GP) and i think i'm okay with mine i guess.

like i sleep shortly after i come home from school all the way until the next day when it's time for school again.
just today, i came home at around 2 and slept all the way from 3-8:30pm.

i guess that given our hectic schedule, it's really important to spend time talking to Him, to find out what He wants to say to us.
Not only would it deepen our relationship with Him, it'll also help us to entrust everything to Him, putting Him first in our lives and just walk in faith of Him.

okay yes, i'm continuing from my previous post!
i'm feeling really rather high now cos i've been in a exceptionally good mood in the past few days.
especially yesterday! ((:

anyway, on thursday, to celebrate the end of ~~the completely disastrous~~ chemistry paper and MYEs, went out with melanie, yanzhu, jialing, chia, hidhir and joel for lunch before meeting up with sushuen and bird to do........sth. -.-
it was extremely fun, but that's not the point.

the point was yesterday!
it was seriously the first time in 6 months that i could finally let loose. the first time that i can just laugh and scream and go terribly high. it was really, the best (:
yup, went out with huiling, cindy, meiting and rachel!
went back to st margs first though, to collect SGC and to see ms ng, ms lum, ms tan, ms pang etc, and mr tan our conductor (?!) yup, will see him on wednesday again!
sat in for band prac for awhile and it was great to see the band grow.
great to see cornet section improve quite abit since i last heard them (keep it up okay!)

hmm, then went to citilink before deciding to head to marina square.
met quite a few vj ppl like henry from senior class, qianren, jialing, olivia, yiyong, enghwee and dafril?
yea had dinner at shokubu (?) and proceeded to the esplanade rooftop terrace.
i tell you, like seriously, the rooftop terrace was seriously N-I-C-E.
it was really romantic and all of us were like "wow"
never knew there could be such a beautiful place like that in singapore.
so we celebrated huiling's birthday with some 'cake' and just sat down and talk.
it was just so enjoyable talking to them cos really, it's just different.
yes so i'm really looking forward to cindy's birthday on the 27th july (:

though i might not do as well as i hope, i know He was there with me throughout the entire examination period like always and i'm really grateful to Him for that.

anyway, came back from J1s-cum-JTS chalet yesterday at 10 and slept all the way till 430
had dinner and slept all the way again till today.
yes it was really tiring cos we all slept really late on both days, like past 3am (though i was one of those who slept the most..Zzz)
it was really fun though there weren't much activities planned.
for example, our failed attempt to go into Old Changi Hospital on the 1st night.
haha it's quite funny now that you come to think abt- all those mysterious phone calls and smses everyone got just before going in.
hmm..oh well the guys went in on the 2nd day in the afternoon in the end.
yup, kinda enjoyed myself, if only SOMEone was there!

yea, the difference between the last post and this post it that MAJESTIA XXIII is over :/
it was the first time VJCSB (and i) got to play in Esplanade concert hall and i must say that it was a great experience.
not as great as carnegie hall, but great all the same (:
despite the banging terribly hard into jessie's head before the performance to forgetting to bring 1 file on stage during the first half to entering the stage too early while eric was receiving flowers (which some audience saw), the concert on the whole turned out great (:
however it was kinda saddening as well cos of all the camwhoring sessions with our seniors would never be the same cos that was our last performance together.
yes, but i bet everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly esp after the terribly high gift exchange sessions in the band room and at Esplanade.
thank you to all those who came to watch, some of you i've not seen in AGES, i hope you all enjoyed the concert and we'll catch up sometime soon yea! (:

this year was definitely one of those years which i've been to so many concerts.
for example, VJC dance, chinese orchestra, guitar, TJC band, CHS band and RJC band and SAJC dance concerts to come.
Enjoyed most of them and learnt to appreciate some of them, but it was a great experience altogether (:

yea, school has definitely been really hectic for us these few weeks and many of us (esp VJCSB ppl) must be feeling really tired.
But one thing that kept me going throughout this week was this verse, and i believe that if we have faith in Him, we'll definitely be able to press on and get through everything despite all the things we have on hand.
With that, and the fact that He'll always be there for us, i'm sure me (and SOMEone) would be able to hang in there and chiong all the way! (esp for Midyears)

im back from New York and im finally blogging!
yes, and i am New York-sick. you know ppl go for camp and get camp-sick cos they miss it so much? i am NY-sick ):
anyway, Jetlaggedness (?) was quite terrible the first few days. Had terrible difficulty waking up every morning and would most prolly be late on certain days if not for someone. thanks ah! (:
yeah and breakfast seemed too little cos it was supposed to be dinner in NY?
furthermore, since 12noon here was like 12 midnight in NY, we were all like so sleepy by lunch time!
so TGIF. the week has seriously been chionging to catch up on lectures and tutorials, copying notes as well as get as much sleep as possible. and im glad to finally be able to rest for tonight (:

New York Band and Orchestra Festival 2008
it was an amazing trip not only for me, but im sure for the entire band as well.
i forsee that the post would be extremely long if i actually recounted the whole trip. and furthermore, putting them down in words would not do justice to the whole experience as it was simply undescribable.

im really really excited about the whole thing and all, but im still wondering, WHAT AM I DOING HERE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NOT PACKED MY BAG?!
yes i think im ~~quite~~ very slow considering the fact that im a girl.

Anyway i just came back from Good Friday service.
yes and today's sermon was divided into 3 themes- Darkness and Pain, Forgiveness and Hope and Restfulness and Victory.
all based on the Gospel of Luke 23: 26-53
and i firmly believe that we should rest in God when we face the darkness, forgive others who sinned against us as He has forgiven us who sinned against him and no matter how we feel like giving in, we must always rememeber that Mercy will come running.

with that, i really thank God for all he has done and i pray that He will be there for VJCSB throughout the whole trip, keeping us safe and guide us in whatever we do.
and for sure, VJCSB WILL ROCK CARNEGIE HALL! (:

past few days have been extremely busy though we only had 2 days of lessons?
yes, monday was the first day of term 2 and jiayun and i accomplished what we wanted to!
that is to....PAY ATTENTION AND STOP TALKING DURING LECTURES/TUTORIALS!
and we're extremely proud of ourselves for that okay!
stayed back till 7 for sectionals with Pinrui kindly helping us (: Thank You!
Tuesday was more paying attention and less talking for me and jiayun again followed by more band from 530-8.

Wednesday. Arts day.
Yes, and jiayun and i, being really nice and kind people decided to wait for Yiyong in the morning even though he might be late.
so after his arrival at 7:39, we chiong-ed to school and jiayun fell down! and her injuries were quite serious.
JIAYUN! you must take good care of yourself okay! have lots of rest and dont walk up and down too much! im sure you'll be all right really soon! we're really sorry! but dont worry cos me (AND Yiyong) will get you stuff from New York and send you your daily sms! Thursday was FULL DAY!
but we still had band until 2.
Luckily we didnt arrange for bus stop outing on that day cos even though we skipped lunch and started packing our instruments immediately, we ended at around 5!

i was supposed to go for sectionals in the morning, but then i had to take blood test and flu jab and collect passport first.
spent 830-1000am waiting at the doctor's just to get 2 needles poked into me /:
and 1030-12+ waiting for stupid passport! that's like more than 90 minutes?! haha thank goodness i bumped into yanzhu, phy, louise, daniel and weijian or else i'll be like bored to the max (:
went back to vj to meet the section, then to suntec for JTS then to st margs' for alumni band with mr tan at night.

after reflecting on what had been said in church yesterday,
i have finally acknowledge the fact that i need God.
Looking back at the past two months, i realised that everything has just gone really smoothly.
the PAE posting results, release of O level results, JAE posting results and all those nitty gritty things have all been taken care by Him.
how did i end up in VJC? all thanks to God.
i really thank Him for giving me not only such a wonderful school to go to, but also such a wonderful class, wonderful OG, wonderful band, wonderful section, wonderful bus-stop kakis and wonderful everything else.
it's like i doubt things would have turned out like it did without Him.
i still remember my goal in my relationship with Him this year. Yes, i will achieve that goal for i know that He will always be there for me and with God, nothing is impossible.

it was quite okay la, but the most "exciting" part was the majong game.
yes, i played majong against adults. okay, not I, but WE. (teamed up with Selena)
and surprisingly, i dont even know how it happened, we won $60.
haha and my other cousin lost $50. so he had to pay us.
BUT, since i think we won by beginners' luck, we decided not to collect money.

he bought quite alot, and so i'm left with 3 packets out of the 25 packets i'm supposed to sell.

yep, these 3 groups of people were basically the people who i got to really know and who made the past weeks in vj so much more fun then it really is.
of course VJCSB is another such group la cos band in vj really is very enjoyable.
but too bad, no band photos yet.
come to think about it, the 1 hour long bus ride to VJ is really worth it (:

anyway, referring to my previous post, i've got my O level results
still remember the day before during physics practical when Jiayun and i were both scaring each other cos our results. haha (:
anyhow, the results are out, and yes, i'm very satisfied with it ((:
7 points, and it just goes to show that band girls can do well despite their hectic schedule.
cos that's what a number of band girls got as well (:
but my results, like i said before, is not mine alone but God's as well.
yes, i believe in Him and that He has been there and will always be for me.
in whatever i do, i will always put God first and that's my promise to Him.

school is really very fun. like seriously.
haha and band just doubles the fun altogether.
the people there are all really very nice lor.
and though the teachers give loads of homework, i think i prefer the tutorial/lecture style.

yup, and i feel rather low now.
after a week being high (most probably sugar high), i'm rather drained now
sugar high cos i ate loads of sweets and chocolates given by nice angels and mortals.
they seriously helped to keep me awake (:

haha and now i think i'm not making sense. (did i contradict myself in the previous paragraph?)
cos seriously, i'm blogging for the sake of blogging, with no main purpose for anything.

i miss st margs' );

today is results day.
and i cant help it but to be scared. After reading ms lum's message wishing all the best, i started crying. After reading amanda's message, i cried some more.
yesterday in school, i was scaring everyone around me by saying "i'm scared" every few minutes. i even made my mum scared this morning. In just 4 hours, i'll know how i fared. Be it good or bad, i'll try my best to accept it. i believe that God has helped me through the entire examination period. the results would not be only mine, but His as well.
last sunday in church was my second time attending youth service. it was about Goals.
What's my goal in my relationship with God this year? Well, every goal has to have a starting line. So we had this white tape across the room and we could choose to step over it. after stepping over, we had to paint a line with red paint across the white tape. it signified what He has sacrificed just for us.
Usually, i wouldnt go to the front, but last sunday i did. something just urged to me to cross that white line. to start the race with God and acheive that goal with Him. So i believe that He will be there with me when i collect my results later on and He will be there for me no matter what happens.
Lord i thank You for all the things that You've done. and with that, i'll collect my results with absolute faith in Him that He is always beside me.

anyway, it's kinda like 12:21 am on sunday now, so in actual fact i'll be blogging about yesterday.
ah okay i think i'm sleepy as well, so pardon me if i dont make sense!
straight to the point then!

5th January 2007
VJC @Suntec City Fountain of Wealth

oh my today was fun FUN FUN!
firstly we started of early in the morning at 8am for.......BAND!
first band prac this year as well as first band prac for year 1s who want to join band.
10am was supposed to be sectionals, but we slacked at the Treehouse.
lunch and then lesson with Mervin.
haha apparently he knows ronny as well, rather cool (:

lesson was quite fun la, though abit tiring.
anyway, it ended at 430, and i was supposed to meet my OG at suntec at 1pm.
almost FOUR hours late!
yup, and it was raining, so we were trapped in school.
so at like 5:30, everyone just decided to run to the bus stop.
and on the bus i saw one of my OGLs, Shaun, haha so i'm not late after all? /:
okay, sounds rather boring right? yeah, cos it's not the highlight of the day!

here the fun begins (:
at 7pm, the entire year 1 batch and seniors were at Suntec's fountain of wealth
and it began to rain.
but seriously, who cares!
so we MASS DANCED around the fountain!
there were 6 mass dances in total which made us rather high la.
haha and the 4th one was friendship dance, so we kinda like had to grab some guy and start dancing.
it all rocked la!
then the rain became heavier, so the whole school started cheering
"Rain rain, *clapclap, GO AWAY *clapclap..."
and after some time the rain stopped!

the fountain itself was really cool la.
with water displays as well as laser displays which show dedicated messages in laser form.
rather cool seeing messages meant for Victorians and individual CCAs as well.
then there were tons of congo lines going around the fountain too.
everyone were all drenched, but seriously it didnt bother us.
we all were like cheering, dancing, singing, and even the principal came too!
it was really high there with people screaming at the top of the voices during cheers and dances.
it was seriously the BEST please!

anyway, my hair is dried and it's almost 1am, so i shall end here.
Orientation has not really ended cos monday there's

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

okay i know my post rather late.
haha but i managed to stay up all the way yesterday okay.
just too lazy to blog at 12am /:

WAH 2007 is over.
yeah it was a busy year. very very very busy year.
there were also many good things as well as bad things.
but 5 things that really left an impression in my mind this year are:

1. BAND- syf
well even though the results werent what we hoped for, the whole thing was definitely worth remembering.
16th April 2007- SCH. "we will rock SCH!"
with heart and voice- bar 44 tongue harder! bar 199 play louder, MOVE!
sunrise- bar 60 onwards, LOUDER!
the songs we played, the exchanges we had, had definitely made our music experience much more fufilling.
each band practice leading up to the competition was also memorable in their own way and that's something that would never be forgotten

2. BAND- cornet section
oh my my beloved section (syf batch) <3
sheryl and kayminn the seoul garden non stop eating people, elizabeth and shahira the people who laugh and laugh for no reason at all, hewmun unique in her own way, lynn the seems to be the only sane one in the section and of course the most beloved Beloved #1! <3
oh my you dont know how much i terribly miss you as well okay!
our terrible fear of Mr Tan saying "Cornets!", playing 2nd together, all the nonsense we were up to in band and of course everything else that have made band so much more fun.
i'll definitely come back to see you some day yeah! (:
Juniors (now turn Seniors), i'll also definitely remember you all too as well okay.
alicia, nichola, shili, suchin, yufang, thanks for continuing the cornet section spirit and retardedness /:

3. 4E5 2007
AH the best class ever! all the teachers and everyone, i love you all!
i'll definitely miss everything that we've been through together and i hope that the 4e5 unitedness would carry on for the many years to come.
All the best for 2008, 4e5!

4. GCE 'O' Levels
how could i forget? the Great Big Thing that the whole class was awaiting and counting down to.
well, we've got through it and now it's over.
all the asking teachers questions last minute, the late night studying, the pain in the hand after social studies and lit paper, the relief after the last written paper and the euphoria after physics paper 1.
that's something that would be remembered whether i want to or not.
This year there's promos and the following year, 'A' Levels.
ah after tomorrow, it's another long journey for 2 years before we can have our nice long with nothing to do break again.
well, we've been through it and we can do it again.
JIA YOU!

5. My journey with Him
that's right. i dont think i would ever be able to survive this year without Him.
it was with Him that i managed to get through my exams and those tough times.
i sincerely thank Him for all his guidance and all the things that He has given me this year.
i truly believe that God is great and wonderful and i am proud to be His child.

well, that's it. that's the end of 2007.
ther's definitely more things that are worth remembering, but i cant possibly list everything down.
2007 was definitely a very special year for me with many significant events.
thank you everyone for being there with me to experience it.

well, before reaching New Zealand we had to transfer at Sydney airport.

okay so we arrived at christchurch to visit my relatives for a while before heading to Wellington.

so sunny and all, but when the wind comes it's so cold and strong that you can seriously be blown. Away.

Akaroa

Akaroa wasnt really much. it was just mainly sight seeing and eating the "World Renowed Fish&Chips".

haha but the most amusing thing was that when we went to the shop, we didnt eat fish&chips at all!
cos my parents insisted on eating seafood bucket, so me and my cousins went to buy F&C.
but then when we ordered, we said "one Fish & Chips please", they heard "One packet of chips please"!!!!!
so we ended up with this huge packet of chips and the seafood bucket.
Unhappy, we decided to by the fish and chips Fish. we ended up with some "Elephant fish".
so in the end, NO "World Renowed Fish&Chips" at all ):

Hanmer Springs

this is what happens when 11 people are going on holiday together.

so last friday was the end of the first 3 weeks of school we have left.
well, i've just got to say, it was the best day ever.
it's like everything turned out perfect and everyone was happy.

anyway, i was talking to someone on the phone yesterday,

but then he rose up from the dead to kill voldemort instead.
he could do this cos a part of voldemort's soul was in him when the killing curse backfired 17 years ago.
so when voldemort killed him this time round, he killed that part of his soul and not harry's soul.

so like everyday, 2 hours go to practising the piano and cornet.
it's like super time-consuming please!
